At the heart of The Connective is a simple yet powerful mission: to empower Changemakers across sectors to collaborate, innovate, and create lasting impact. We envision a world where businesses aren’t just focused on profit but on purpose, where non-profits and charities work alongside them to address society’s most pressing challenges, and where education leads the way in shaping future leaders.
Our goal is to build bridges across these sectors, creating opportunities for members to share resources, collaborate on projects, and amplify their impact. Together, we can create a thriving ecosystem where all members can grow and where the ripple effect of their efforts is felt far and wide.

We also believe in the power of private citizens to be active participants in this journey. Through initiatives like Cupio, we are enabling individuals to make conscious, impactful choices with their purchases, while providing them with opportunities to support causes that matter to them.
At the core of everything we do is the belief that everyone—from large corporations to individual consumers—has a role to play in building a more inclusive society. And we’re here to make that possible.

Our History: The Foundation of The Connective
The Connective Federation was born out of the belief that cross-sector collaboration could change the world. Founded by EUSL, it started as a small network of like-minded organizations eager to share resources, collaborate, and make a difference. Over time, this network expanded to include businesses, non-profits, charities, and educational institutions—all united by a common goal: to create an inclusive, impact-driven society.
As we’ve grown, so has our vision. What began as a simple idea of collaboration has evolved into a full-fledged ecosystem where members can network, share resources, and create tangible change together.
The Social Development and Empowering Programme (SDEP)
Launching at the end of the year, SDEP is our largest project to date and a clear example of how The Connective Federation and its members are actively shaping a better future. The project brings technology and knowledge transfers from Sweden to COMESA countries, focusing on sustainable agriculture, circularity, food security, food staple production, and equality. In local communities, we will carry out skill training to empower individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
As part of this ambitious initiative, EUSL members will be heavily involved in providing vocational training and lower-level education, while we collaborate with Effort, a UNDP-cleared umbrella project focusing on higher research. Together, Effort and The Connective will create a comprehensive program that supports the entire educational spectrum—from vocational skills to advanced research—creating a strong foundation for future development in countries like Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.
Through SDEP, we believe that we will enable thousands of local citizens to start their own businesses and create direct and indirect job opportunities across both continents. By equipping individuals with skills in sustainable industries and transferring the knowledge and technology needed for innovation, we’re laying the groundwork for economic independence and societal resilience.
To support this, EUSL has secured a funding package via the African Development Bank (AfDB), ensuring that the necessary resources for skill training and technology implementation are available. This will help to accelerate development and drive meaningful, long-term change in the region.
The EUSL Charity Network: Expanding Our Reach
With the expansion of our efforts through SDEP, we are also excited to launch the EUSL Charity Network. This new initiative marks a significant step in our journey, as it focuses on engaging charities and non-profits in the same impactful ecosystem we’ve built for the private sector.
For years, EUSL has concentrated on the private sector, driving innovation and social responsibility through businesses. Now, with the Charity Network, we are offering free membership to non-profits and charitable organizations. These Charity members will gain the opportunity to collaborate with businesses, access resources, and potentially receive funding from the private sector through the excess profits generated by EUSL members.
This model creates a win-win situation: Charities receive the support they need to scale their impact, while businesses enhance their brand value by aligning themselves with causes that resonate with their customers and communities. Together, they foster an ecosystem where social responsibility and financial success go hand in hand.

We’re committed to deepening the connections between sectors, ensuring that businesses, non-profits, charities, and educational institutions all have the tools and support they need to thrive. And we’re excited to see how private citizens, through Cupio and The Wings of Paloma, will take on an even larger role in shaping the future.
